Today Charlotteans know the Myers Park neighborhood as one of the city's prestige addresses, an area of fine homes, tree-lined streets, and curving drives.
 
Originally a 1200-acre farm owned by John Spring Myers was developed by his son-in-law George Stephens and designed by John Nolen, a Harvard graduate who later became a well-known landscape architect, designed the site on which the neighborhood is now located.
 
Currently over 2200 acres the architecture of the neighborhood bursts with character. The primary style is Colonial Revival, especially the red brick Georgian Colonial, Bungalow influences, and the Tudor Revival.
 
Myers Park is home to the “Booty Loop” a popular 2.85-mile walking, running, and cycling route. The cycling loop is also the original home to the 24 Hours of Booty annual charitable event, hosted by the 24 Foundation. The 24-hour fundraising event draws hundreds of cyclists and thousands of spectators each year.
 
The neighborhood also boasts the amazing Myers Park Country Club, is home to Queens University, and offers shopping and restaurants on Selwyn Ave.
 
The Duke Mansion overlooking Edgehill Park is the white-columned Colonial house still known as the neighborhood's architectural centerpiece. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
